Bulk supply beyond Lahore
Lahore gets a van every morning. Everywhere else gets freight, and consignments for export are graded and packed to the buyer’s specification rather than ours.
Three different jobs
- Lahore, daily. Own vans, 5 to 8 am, from 50 kg. That is the business the rest of this site describes.
- Rest of Pakistan. Full and part loads by freight to wholesalers, processors and institutional kitchens. Priced per tonne, ex-farm or delivered.
- Export. Graded to buyer specification, packed in ventilated mesh sacks or cartons, prepared to inspection standard.
What we need to quote a bulk or export order
Destination, volume, the grade or size band you work to, packing format, and your delivery window. With those five we can price it. Without them any number we give you is guesswork, and guesswork on a container is expensive for both of us.
Grading to a buyer's spec, not ours
Domestic restaurant grades are sorted to bands that suit a Lahore kitchen. Export buyers usually arrive with their own spec — a tighter size band, a dry matter minimum for processing, a skin finish requirement for retail. We grade to what you send us.
Packing
Ventilated mesh sacks are standard and are what keeps a potato from sweating in transit. Cartons are available where the destination or the retailer requires them. Pallet configuration is set by the buyer.
Before you contract
Does Aloowala supply outside Lahore?
Yes. Lahore is served daily from our own vans, and the rest of Pakistan by freight on full and part loads. We also handle export consignments.
Which countries does Pakistan export potatoes to?
The established markets are Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, the UAE, Malaysia, Qatar, Oman and Kazakhstan, with Pakistan holding phytosanitary access to a wider list through the Department of Plant Protection. Route availability shifts with border and quarantine conditions, so confirm the destination with us before contracting.
What paperwork does a potato export consignment need?
A phytosanitary certificate issued after Department of Plant Protection inspection, plus standard commercial documents and any destination-specific quarantine requirements. We prepare the consignment to inspection standard and work with the exporter of record on documentation.
Do you supply potatoes year round?
Punjab crop runs roughly November to June. Off-season supply from June to November comes from other growing regions, which is why a buyer who needs continuity should contract ahead rather than buy spot.
A word on the market. Pakistan is carrying a large potato surplus and export routes have been unsettled since the Afghan border closures. That means good pricing for a buyer right now, and it means route and timing need confirming per consignment rather than assumed. We would rather tell you that up front than after you have booked freight.
