Questions we get asked

If the answer you need is not here, call +92 300 0000000 and ask. Someone who knows the crop will pick up.

What is the minimum order for restaurant supply?

Fifty kilos for most of Lahore, which is roughly two sacks. Bahria Town, the Walled City and out-of-city areas start at 100 kg.

Which potato is best for french fries in Pakistan?

A large, uniform potato with high dry matter. Size consistency matters more than size alone, because a sack holding both 40 mm and 70 mm potatoes cannot be fried to a single timing. Our Restaurant Grade A is sorted to a 55–75 mm band for fry stations.

How many kilos of raw potato make a kilo of french fries?

About 1.65 kg, because peeling and trimming removes 35 to 40 percent. Cost your fries against that number rather than the sack price, and add your prep labour on top.

Why are our french fries coming out dark?

Nearly always cold storage. Below about 6 degrees a potato converts its starch to sugar, and the sugar caramelises in the fryer. Move sacks out of the chiller to a dark store at 8 to 12 degrees and the colour recovers within a week or two.

How do I get today's potato rate in Lahore?

The rate board on our homepage shows the current per-kilo price for every grade and the date it was set. Rates move with the crop, so call to confirm before you place a large order.

Do you deliver daily?

Yes. Most of Lahore gets a 5 to 8 am slot, seven days a week, so stock lands before service. Order by 9 pm for next-morning delivery.

How is Aloowala cheaper than the mandi?

We grow the crop ourselves on 80 acres outside Lahore. There is no commission agent and no wholesale markup between the field and your kitchen, so the margin that normally sits with the arhti stays out of your price.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash on delivery, bank transfer, and monthly account terms for regular restaurant customers after the first three orders.

Do you supply peeled or pre-cut potatoes?

No. We sell whole graded potatoes only, washed and sorted to a size band. We do not peel, cut or process anything, which is why the price is what it is.

Can you supply a specific potato variety?

Yes, on contract. High dry-matter varieties like Lady Rosetta are grown to order for crisp and chip lines. Minimum 500 kg with two weeks notice.

Do you sell to households, not just restaurants?

Yes, in bulk. Households, hostels and offices buying 50 kg or more get the same farm-direct rate. Below that we would rather point you to your local sabzi wala.

How should I store potatoes in a restaurant kitchen?

Dark, dry and between 8 and 12 degrees, off the floor and away from onions. Never in a chiller below 6 degrees, because the starch turns to sugar and your fries come out dark.

What areas of Lahore do you cover?

Gulberg, DHA, Cantt, Johar Town, Model Town, Bahria Town, Iqbal Town, Township, Kot Lakhpat and the Walled City daily. Raiwind Road on alternate days. Sheikhupura and Kasur for bulk loads.

Rates change with the crop. Call and we will quote you for your volume today.
